Hirosaki(弘前) has been being a famous in Tohoku. If you go to Aomori, you have to visit here as well.
In here, You can see a castle, Apple Gardens, old buildings, old residential houses with beautiful gardens and a parade of different diplays which has many big bamboo frames covered by transparent papers. They paint them and place them on big wooden carts. If the parade is at night, they install luminous devices inside the diplays.
You can also taste a special ice cream here - Red pepper icecream. I have not seen it in other places in Japan.
Of cource, I will not forget the delicious sea food and noodles in the market near The JR Hirosaki train Station.
and my wife still miss the play with the cat in Hirosaki Youth Hostel.
