Statue - Edouard VII near the French restaurant in Paris 30/3/2007

When I went out of the restaurant and turned left, It was 80 feet away from the main entrance of the Frence restaurant. This statue is in the place called Square Edouard VII.

Do they look like kissing? agree?
Following letters were engraved on the stone. As it is not so clear in my photo, some characters may be wrong.

This is my first French lunch in Europe. I did not order the red wine. I borrowed it from tourmate for decoration. Oh no, My wife told me that the red wine came with the lunch. 6 persons shared one bottle.
